Designed as a Custom Builder's entry to the Home Builder's Association Parade of Homes, the design garnered nine first place awards. The exterior recalls Arts and Crafts from the early 20th century, with close attention to a rich palette of materials, but adapts to its suburban site with a broad porch facing the rear yard. The interior is organized around a two-story high entrance hall. Ground floor rooms work in tandem: living and dining rooms create a formal pair on one side of the hall, while the family room and kitchen create an informal pair facing the wrap around porch.
