Designed for a successful home builder and his wife, the house, situated off Sheridan Road and with views of Lake Michigan, was designed as a collection of very special rooms. The living room, with its French Limestone fireplace opens off the entry hall with the dining room directly across. A small "hunting porch" sits outside the French doors at the opposite side. The porch is screened and has a stone fireplace that increases its use for a few months each year. The daughter's bedroom included an arched bay window with a built-in bench and light as a reading nook. The attic has a large balcony overlooking the lake, and was designed to be reminiscent of a house in Big Sur the wife found in a magazine.
